Corri Dunn and her crew are sent on a mission to Adhara VII.  With little information to go on, she is very wary but as any good soldier would do, she listens to and follows orders.  When she discovers that Devin Tremaine has also been deployed to Adhara VII, she cringes at the thought of seeing him even though it’s what she wants more than anything.  The misunderstanding they had five years left her yearning for him but since he didn’t want to be found, she’d been unable to locate him until now.

When Devin is ordered to go to Adhara VII, it fills him with unease because while a well-known archaeologist and his team are converging there, no one can explain why.   He knows that Corri has been sent to escort the archaeological team and while he doesn’t want to see her after she abandoned him five years ago, he knows it’s inevitable.  This time, he vows to stay in control.

You definitely don't want to miss this book!  Across Time is an extremely well written, powerful and intense story.  The characters and scenes are so well described that I could visualize everything so well that I felt like I was watching a movie instead of reading a book.  Rayne Forrest has mastered the art of descriptive language.  The emotions experienced by Corri and Devlin, as well as they undeniable attraction to each other, was elemental.  Their raw need seemed so tangible in both its sensuality and poignancy that it exploded off the page.   Their lack of pretense about their past and their present feelings showed maturity. Their desire to understand what happened to their relationship five years ago was remarkable and spoke volumes about the true nature of their feelings for one another.  Devin is easily one of the most ideal men I’ve ever had the good fortune to read about – in a word, he’s dreamy!  Across Time is like a science fiction version of Indiana Jones with a mystical twist that had me absolutely riveted until the very last page.
